The carers (H.A., S.M. & F.M) that care for my mum does so with great kindness, compassion and patience, so much so that there is nothing they can possibly do to further improvement.

Audrey’s story
Audrey lived in Lambeth on her own and suffered from a stroke and was house bound. Package of care was commissioned for a single-handed service. A struggling with her day-to-day activities as well as her recovery.
ServeSoul was initially commissioned to support A with a single handed personal care however, it became clear that A. required more support due to his health conditions. Support was increased to double handed services; an additional domestic call & shopping call was added to support with their daily living. ServeSoul also supported A to manage and arrange her hospital appointments and to ensure that she attends them. Following months of support, A’s condition has improved and was able to reduce the services to a single-handed support. Staff at ServeSoul Ltd also noticed that A. was lonely and besides the carers, did not have anyone else to communicate or interact with. ServeSoul contacted Age UK to arrange for a befriending services for A.
Gradually A regained her strength and mobility, she was able to gradually leave her home with support from staff and is now able to live a relatively normal life with the ongoing support of her carers at ServeSoul Ltd.

Margret’s story
Margret, lives in Barnet and has lost her husband a few months ago and her daughter moved to Newcastle. Margret used to love getting out and about with her husband and socialise with her neighbours and friends. Margret had a fall when she was outside and spent time in hospital recovering. When her daughter arranged for a care package to support her while being home, Margret was weary and reluctant to accept. She has always been independent and was able to do everything by herself and felt that stranger would not be able to help her.
ServeSoul’s staff arranged for an introductory visit, explained the package of care and introduced Margret to her care worker. Margret was informed that of the tasks the care worker will be supporting her with. By the end of the visit, Margret was at ease and was happy with the arrangements.
On the first day of the visit from her care worker, Margret was supported with the tasks as agreed and over time, Margret required minimal support from her care worker. Margret was happy and was getting along with her care worker and enjoyed the conversation she had with her. In time, Margret recovered and was able to do most of her day-to-day activities independently, but she was still not going outside for fear of having a fall again.
ServeSoul provided Margret with a wrist fall band in case of a fall and after a lot of persuasion, Margret agreed to go out to the shops with the support of her care worker and since them, she has not looked back.
Margret still has care worker coming to see her and she enjoys the visits. They still help her with making her meals, remind her to take her medication and help her when going out.
Margret’s daughter has noticed a positive change in her mother’s mood. Margret was much happier and much more social for the first time since her husband’s passing. She sees her mother becoming more confident and independent with the support of her care worker.
